As tax season 2012 approaches quickly, The Ohio Benefit Bank^TM would like to invite you to publicize your tax efforts on our website, blogs, and with The OBB^TM Hotline.

By providing some quick information and filling out this form we can provide clients and other OBB sites with your clinic dates, times, and locations.

Our research has shown that marketing outside of your normal client traffic can greatly increase activity at your tax event.

Once this information is collected an interactive OBB tax clinic locator map will be available to all OBB counselors and any potential OBB tax clients surfing the web to find free tax services.

2012 Tax Season Updates

Greetings Counselors!
The 2012 tax season is right around the corner and fee for service tax preparers are starting to pop up in our neighborhoods ready to take dollars our community members could keep in their pockets.

This tax season, we would like to get the message about The Ohio Benefit BankTM and its free tax services out early so community members will Hang on to file and Hang on to their full refunds. Please help spread this message by ordering flyers and posters and telling everyone you know to Hang on and let The OBBTM help file their taxes for free!

ALL COUNTIES- Winter Heating Reconnection

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio Winter Heating Season Reconnect Program will begin the week of October 17th.

This program allows residential customers who have had their home heating service disconnected or have received a disconnection notice an opportunity to pay and have their heating service restored or maintained.

Residential customers pay $175 or the amount owed, whichever is less, and a reconnection fee no more than $36 to have their service restored or maintained.

The winter reconnect order may be used one time during the heating season that runs from October 17 to April 13, 2012.

There is no income eligibility requirement but customers must sign up for a payment plan to pay any remaining past-due balance on their utility bill.

Rental, Mortgage, and Housing Assistance

If you need assistance with paying your rent or mortgage, these resources might be able to help:

Rental Assistance - The Department of Housing and Urban Development can assist you with privately owned subsidized housing or public housing.

Mortgage Assistance - The Making Home Affordable program may be able to help you lower your payments or rates, exit a mortgage gracefully, or get help if you lost you job or your home has lost value.
