It is a beautiful spring day here in Northeast Ohio, and with the warm weather comes the start of farmers markets! Farmers' markets are great for getting fresh, nutritious, in-season produce from local growers at great prices. The other great thing about these farmers' markets is that the money spent there goes directly to local Ohio farmers, who then put that money back the Ohio economy.
What many people don’t know about these farmers markets(especially those receiving food assistance) is that many farmers' markets will accept food assistance. While not all farmers' markets are able to accept food assistance, there are numerous farmers' markets in our service area that will accept EBT cards as payment for the goods offered by the local farmers at the market.
