NEW STUDY SHOWS 26.5% OF OHIO CHILDREN LIVE AT RISK OF HUNGER Map the Meal Gap Child Food Insecurity 2011: Data Available for the First Time by Count

County level data child food insecurity – this release is being sent to all the Congressional offices and statehouse media offices.

Statewide, 26.5% (731,040 children) of children are food insecure. 40% have incomes above 185% making them unlikely to be eligible for child nutrition programs.

Only one county has a child food insecurity rate below 20% - Delaware county (19.4%).

38.5% of children in Pike county are food insecure – the county with the highest food insecurity rate.
